Diaspora as a resource of homelend nationalism forged overseas and contested back home: the case of Lithuanian-Americans

In this article, the main focus will be on the forging of homeland nationalism or retained nation-ness and on strategies of „to be of use to your own country“, as resources in the diaspora. It is also about encounters with the American melting pot, and about confrontations with „the Soviet life-style“, either brougth to US by post-soviet immigrants or faced by diaspora returnes back in the homeland.
